Community Outreach

Does anyone have any ideas for some sort of Community Outreach activity this year? Something similar/or completely different from what Stephanie Sauer did last year. We could do something monthly/twice a year/Christmastime/same organization/different organizations, etc. Brenda Schlickbernd said that she would have some interest, but I think she wanted a direction to go with it. Has anyone worked with any Charities that they liked in particular? I know Deanna mentioned Feed My Starving Children. I'm just looking for ideas on what may benefit our moms/and the organization the best. Should we have moms bring in donations like last year/or give them an opportunity to volunteer for something/monetary donations, etc?
Any suggestions?

I know that Robbinsdale Women's Center has baby bottles to use for donations--where you collect change, checks, cash to fill up the bottle and then turn them in. That would be a fun one for the moms to do with their children.

There is always Operation Christmas Child, and I remember doing this one year and it was very overwhelming to us to fill up a whole box. What we did was to split up the suggested list amongst everyone at the table so that we all contributed, and the child got a very full box!

I think Feed My Starving Children is a great idea!
